Received the review comments in November 2025, with 4 reviewers, the comments were okay, not much additional experiments needed, but major revisions were required.

Returned for revision in December 2025, and then the fantastic journey began. Two reviewers disappeared, and the editor had to find 4 new reviewers. Reminded them 3 times in between.

Received the second round of review comments in May 2026, with 6 reviewers, 3 agreed to accept it directly, while the other 3 had some comments, requiring major revisions by the editor.

Returned for revision in June 2026, and the most frustrating thing happened. When we submitted the revision for the first round, we requested to add a co-author who helped in experiments and change the positions of the third and fourth authors. The editor replied at the time that they did not agree to add the author, but did not object to changing the positions of the third and fourth authors, so we used the new author order. There was no issue with the first round of revision, but when it came to the second round, they said we did not meet the journal's ethical requirements and rejected the manuscript.

Appealed three times without success, wasting a year on a lousy journal.

Fortunately, it was a small project and not dependent on this article for graduation. The garbage journal is decisively added to the blacklist!!!

Submitted on 3.18, accepted on 3.21 with minor revisions, revised and resubmitted on 3.22, received feedback for revisions on 4.3 from two reviewers - one suggesting minor revisions while the other suggesting rejection, editor requested major revisions. Revised and resubmitted on 5.17, editor sent back to the first reviewer and sought two additional reviewers. Received feedback on 6.1, original reviewer and one new reviewer recommended acceptance, while the other new reviewer recommended major revisions. Editor suggested minor revisions. Revised on 6.24, received feedback on 6.26, the final reviewer suggested polishing. Revised again on 7.5 and accepted on 7.7.

Received comments from 5 reviewers with around 70 suggestions on February 25, 2025, major revisions. 
Revised on March 15, 2025.

Revised again on April 9, 2025. 
Accepted on April 16, 2025. 
This paper was actually written in the first half of the year, but my supervisor kept delaying the revisions and didn't provide any useful feedback in the end. It was submitted to the first-tier journal, but got accepted in the second-tier. I felt a bit disappointed, but as a doctoral student, I am still happy. I appreciate the speed and efficiency of the International Journal of Biochemistry. Regardless, I truly believe in this journal.

Please revise before June 20th, with 4 reviewers, one requesting additional experiments. The revisions were made and submitted on June 19th. Unexpectedly, it was accepted yesterday on the 5th. After the revisions, the three reviewers all agreed that it could be accepted. Thank you.

The review process is extremely slow. It took over 2 months for the manuscript to be under review, then another 3 months for the editor to provide revisions. After completing the experiments and resubmitting, it took another 2 months for acceptance, totaling half a year.

My paper also, after being returned for revisions in the second review, the reviewer disappeared. The paper was sent back for revisions 4030 times, and we still haven't found a new reviewer. The key point is that before the second round of revisions, one reviewer had no objections. Why can't the editor make a decision directly after the revisions? I am really frustrated.

This journal is becoming increasingly difficult to submit to. Firstly, the review process is lengthy, often involving multiple rounds of revisions with new reviewers being brought in at each stage, sometimes even reaching R7, R8, with the editor still inviting new reviewers. After several cycles, a year can pass without any results, which is considered normal. Secondly, after acceptance, strange anonymous complaints are often received, which are forwarded to school and hospital leaders. Although these accusations are anonymous, some institutions actually take them seriously.

The submission was made in October 25th and underwent the first review for 3 months. It was sent back for revisions in April 26th, but one of the two reviewers disappeared. We have been searching for a new reviewer, and the paper is still under review. The process is too slow.
