Submit on 6.5, passed technical review on 6.12, editor assignment displayed on 6.12, allowing point-to-point modification of the declaration, submission of modifications on 6.17, after which the submission system has been constantly displaying "The editorial team is looking for an editor with expertise in your manuscript’s subject matter to handle your submission", but Research Square shows "under review", indicating that they are still looking for an editor. The status has not changed until today, 6.24. Sigh.

So slow, by the end of November 2023, the minor revisions will be back by early May, then on May 23rd, feedback for modifications will be given, and now on June 7th, they are still looking for reviewers for another round of revisions. It feels like it will never end, I will no longer consider BMC series.
