Submitted in early August, revised format the next day, assigned an editor on the fourth day, underwent major revisions a month later, and accepted at the end of September. The process was fast and the feedback was constructive. Highly recommended.

An additional two months was requested to conduct more animal experiments (new models were validated). The reviewers asked detailed questions, inquiring about the validity of each figure and method. Additional literature was researched and explanations were added. The response letter was over 12,000 words long. Fortunately, the reviewers were reasonable and not overly critical. Any flaws in the research were discussed and clarified in the paper.
