Post submitted on January 8th, 2021, and sent for review on the same day. Feedback was received on February 3rd, 2021. The comments from the three reviewers were not significant, and their evaluations were generally positive. They requested some additional experiments and raised some questions. However, the editor gave a revision period of six months. In a rush to graduate, I quickly conducted the experiments. There were only two experiments that couldn't be done in a short time, so I provided explanations in my response. On February 14th, 2021, I resubmitted the revision. However, the editor sent it for a second review, and now it is in the peer-review process again. I am unsure if this is normal, as previously someone in the lab had their revisions accepted within three to five days after resubmission. I thought my revision would be accepted within a few days as well, but now I'm feeling anxious again!!!

I do research on machine learning and botanical data integration analysis. The manuscript was sent for review on the third day after submission, and the review comments were returned in a month. The speed of this journal’s editor and reviewers were very fast. It took more than 4 months in total, and it was finally accepted after 2 rounds of review. Which was different from the one upstairs who said the difficulty of NC was huge, mine was transferred to Nucleic Acids Research after being rejected immediately by NC. Maybe it has something to do with the field and editor's preferences.

Carefully read the articles published in nar over the past year or two (excluding databases and software). They are not inferior to publications such as embo j and pnas. I suspect that most of the people at the Chinese Academy of Sciences don't understand the articles in nar. Plant Physiology is classified as Zone 1. If someone working on plants can publish in nar, why would they choose Plant Physiology? Maybe even Plant Cell can't compete with nar's impact factor anymore. Nar has published a large number of niche articles and still maintains a score of 11, can their level only be classified as Zone 2? The Chinese Academy of Sciences' journal classification is the biggest supporter of focusing on the journal rather than the content of the articles.
