Editor started formally inviting reviewers on May 9, 2026. Sent out invitations to 10 reviewers, received prompt responses from 5 agreeing to review.
By May 21, 2026, feedback from the 5 reviewers was collected, and the editor requested major revisions with a one-month deadline. Feeling overwhelmed with a total of 51 comments from the reviewers, which required extensive revisions resulting in over 50 pages of responses, doubling the length of the original manuscript. Reviewer 1 was particularly critical, appearing almost like an AI reviewer.
Response to Reviewer 1's comments was submitted on July 3, 2026. Due to the numerous comments, an extension was requested from the editor, but it was discovered that the submission system allowed for late submissions. After a delay of approximately 10 days, the response was submitted.
The editor handled the submission on July 7, 2026, and sent it back to the 5 reviewers.
Feedback was received on July 14, 2026, but 2 of the 5 reviewers had disappeared. Among the remaining 3 reviewers, two agreed to publication without further questions. The editor requested further revisions, which took another half month. Reviewer 1's concerns were addressed, but any unresolved issues were deferred to future work.
Additional feedback from Reviewer 2 was received on July 28, 2026.
On August 6, 2026, the editor returned the manuscript to the original three reviewers, but only one accepted the invitation.
An email was sent by the editor on August 12, 2026, directly stating acceptance of the manuscript for publication, as the previous respondent (presumably Reviewer 1) had not provided feedback, possibly indicating their departure. Thankfully, this marked the end of an 8 and a half month process, with the main delay being caused by the editor, taking 4 months to send the manuscript out for review.

The submission was made on February 18, 26 years ago. The reviewers were contacted by the end of March for external review. By early July, there was still no feedback, and the process was moving extremely slowly.

The worst submission experience, the editor and reviewers were very unprofessional. Submitted in December 25, it took 3 months for the first review, then another 3 months for major revisions in the second review. The reviewer was AI, which was completely unscientific and unreasonable. The editor was slow as a dog, it's really disgusting. This journal is so bad, I would advise to avoid it at all costs.

The format needs to strictly follow the requirements. The speed of review and editing is quite fast. It took a little over a month from submission to decision made in the first review, and then another month for revisions. In the second review, the reviewer did not provide any new comments, and with the editing time included, it took almost another month. Overall, the time was quite manageable, with no particular stage taking exceptionally long. Thank you.
