This journal has a long submission process in pharmacology and medicine. It took me 8 months from submission to acceptance, during which the reviewers requested WB3 repeated experiments. The reviewers' questions were very professional, and it took me an additional 3-4 months to conduct the supplementary experiments. You were lucky to be accepted directly in 3 months, but not everyone is as lucky as you when submitting to this journal. I checked the data of JAR: 212 articles in 2024 and 372 articles in 2025 (doubled), but the IF in 2025 is 13.0, and the timely IF in March 2026 has reached 15. Self-citation rate is 0.7%, acceptance rate is 5-6%. The data is clear: the number of articles has increased by 75%, and the IF is also increasing, not relying on self-citation. Obviously, the basic plate is the same as last year, so why are the categories different? [Handshake][Handshake], what we are talking about now is the algorithm of the new area, if they say they are using the previous surpassing index, then why did the categories change? Moreover, not only JAR, why have other top journals in different fields become 2nd or even 3rd tier? Why has MDPI been upgraded to the 2nd tier?
