Any journal will have uneven levels, as, nc is also said to be water, which cannot be avoided, but this journal still has good articles. I checked the data of JAR: 212 articles in 2024 and 372 articles in 2025 (doubled), but the IF in 2025 is 13.0, and the timely IF in March 2026 has reached 15. Self-citation rate is 0.7%, acceptance rate is 5-6%. The data is clear: the number of articles has increased by 75%, and the IF is also increasing, not relying on self-citation. Obviously, the basic plate is the same as last year, so why are the categories different? [Handshake][Handshake], what we are talking about now is the algorithm of the new area, if they say they are using the previous surpassing index, then why did the categories change? Moreover, not only JAR, why have other top journals in different fields become 2nd or even 3rd tier? Why has MDPI been upgraded to the 2nd tier? On the morning of March 13th, I wrote an email to inquire about the progress, and the journal replied on the same day, assigning an article number and academic editor. The manuscript was sent for review the next day.

I have to say, the formal review process of this journal is indeed a bit slow. I only submitted to it because the impact factor is acceptable and its influence is not significant.
