Food packaging plays a vital role in preserving food throughout the distribution chain. Without packaging, the processing of food can become compromised as it is contaminated by direct contact with physical, chemical, and biological contaminants. In recent years, the development of novel food packaging (modified atmosphere & active packaging) has not only increased the shelf life of foods, but also their safety and quality - therefore bringing convenience to consumers. Directly related, and interlinked, with food packaging is the concept of shelf life - the length of time that foods, beverages, pharmaceutical drugs, chemicals, and many other perishable items are given before they are considered unsuitable for sale, use, or consumption.

This journal is really irresponsible. It's been three months and there has been no movement. The invitations to reviewers are sporadic, and the editor is rarely online. I have submitted water colloids a few times before and they were processed very quickly and responsibly. Other journals also handle submissions much more efficiently than this one, with a higher volume of submissions. It's really frustrating.

Before I submitted it for review, I also changed the "with editor" setting, so it is likely that it has been transferred to a more professional editor.

You are already very fast. As for me, it's been seven months and I haven't finished yet. I estimate it will be done soon. It's considered fast if you can finish this journal in half a year from start to finish.

I gave the revisions back two months ago, but there has been no progress. I had to urge them numerous times before they finally submitted the revised draft for review. One of the reviewers has not provided any feedback yet. I guess it will be ready soon. It has been seven months.
