Great, a new section (Georeservoirs) was launched in this journal. When submitting the manuscript, I chose Li Qingchao, associate editor of Henan Polytechnic University, as the handling editor. The process was very fast and efficient. Especially for petroleum engineering articles, I recommend choosing him as the handling editor. It was a good submission experience

All three reviewers agreed to publish after minor revisions, and the associate editor also agreed. The submission system showed "Pending Decision" in the sixth step - Final Validation, indicating a potential acceptance. However, the next day, I received an email from the editor-in-chief stating that the paper did not fit within the scope of the journal and was rejected. This really left me dumbfounded; if it didn't fit the scope, they should have informed me in the first step. What a waste of time and effort for two months

My situation is the same as yours, two reviewers and the associate editor have agreed to accept the paper. The editor-in-chief ultimately did not agree to accept it. So frustrating. Where did you end up submitting to, any recommendations?

On November 7th, I received the acceptance notice. Two reviewers provided over 30 suggestions for revisions. I requested a 7-day extension to complete the revisions, totaling 21 days. After the revisions were made, it took around 8 days to be accepted. The feedback from the reviewers greatly improved the quality of the article. My first SCI publication in life!
