Submitted for 7 months, minor revisions on November 20th. Returned for further revisions on December 1st, still waiting, and finally accepted on January 2nd, 26 years later. Be cautious when submitting! The journal is terrible, not in the top tier, with high OA fees and extremely slow processing times! Even slower than many top-tier journals!! If it weren't for my supervisor's disapproval, I would have withdrawn my submission long ago. Absolutely no value for money. I would have accepted it if it were a top-tier journal. Unfortunately, it's just trash!!!

Super super slow, the OA journal is really unexpectedly slow. Submitted in May, still in UR in October. It has been half a year, the editor is not proactive, currently only one reviewer, the editor is also not moving. Want to withdraw the submission, but the teacher asked to wait, delaying things. Thought OA would be quick. The behavior of this journal is truly unexpected.

I have been waiting for over a month for my submission to be edited. Personally, I speculate that Aquaculture has been downgraded, leading to stricter article reviews and a very high rejection rate. As a result, most articles are being submitted to open-access journals like reports, which are also in the JCR 1st quartile. I submitted two articles in total. The first one is about freshwater aquaculture fish. Maybe because it was difficult to find reviewers, the progress has been stuck at "under review". The reply from the editor was that one reviewer agreed to review but did not provide any comments. It took four or five months to receive feedback from three reviewers, who gave 21 days for major revisions, although not many additional experiments were needed.
The second article is about zebrafish. The review process was noticeably faster, with feedback received in about a month. The comments were mostly open discussions, and it took 21 days for minor revisions. In the discussion section, I added topics that interested the reviewers.
Overall, I feel that luck plays a significant role in the review process. The two submissions were made almost half a year apart, but both were accepted in the same month
