Communications Physics is an open access journal from Nature Research publishing high-quality research, reviews and commentary in all areas of the physical sciences. Research papers published by the journal represent significant advances bringing new insight to a specialized area of research in physics. We also aim to provide a community forum for issues of importance to all physicists, regardless of sub-discipline.

The scope of the journal covers all areas of experimental, applied, fundamental, and interdisciplinary physical sciences. Primary research published in Communications Physics includes novel experimental results, new techniques or computational methods that may influence the work of others in the sub-discipline. We also consider submissions from adjacent research fields where the central advance of the study is of interest to physicists, for example material sciences, physical chemistry and technologies.

Hello author, when submitting a manuscript, the system displays the corresponding author as the first author and cannot be changed. The system directly shows the corresponding author as the first author, while in the text the corresponding author is listed as the second author. How should this situation be handled?

I have only published one paper in the relevant field in NJP, and have been invited to review it. After reading the opinions of the other two reviewers, I feel they are quite vague. This journal is just average, not as good as PRA or B.

There are not many journals in the field of physics with an impact factor around 6, and the average level of articles should be close to the "Physical Review" series of letters.

Cannot reach the PRX level. Personally, I feel it is similar to the letter in PRB. Besides, the impact factor is also average. If the impact factor exceeds 7, then CP will be more competitive.

Let's stop bragging. I submitted an article and received feedback after two months. One reviewer recommended publication, stating that the article was "written clearly, and the authors employed several advanced computational methods to make their prediction reliable." The other reviewer rejected the article, stating that "the current manuscript lacks evidence that supports the arguments." The editor ultimately rejected the article.

I don't understand why the second reviewer had a negative impact. I submitted the article in May without citing two articles published in June. They claimed those articles were important, but I couldn't have known about them as I am not a time traveler. My article on arXiv cited all relevant articles. 

Of course, the feedback from the first reviewer was also nitpicking. I clearly stated in the methods section that I used a pseudopotential, but they wanted me to specify which pseudopotential I used in more detail. Ha ha...

The "Sun Journal" under Nature's umbrella, however, has very good article quality in the ultra-fast direction. This journal seems to have a special preference for TS-DFT, with a lot of important work on nonlinear dynamics published in it. Two reviewers asked very professional and insightful questions, and after a thorough review of three rounds, the manuscript was submitted four times back and forth with proofs (Nature series journals have extremely high formatting requirements, with over 100 items on the checklist, but modifications are only allowed after acceptance in principle).

Overall, it is still good. The reviewers under Nature are very professional, having at least published in the journal before. The feedback they provide is also professional and constructive, as evident from the peer review process.

The difficulty level is similar to Nature Communications, but the subcategory is physics. If you check the reviewers in ORCID, you will know that the reviewers have at least published in Nature Physics, Nature Communications, and PRL.

In the PR series, it definitely can't compare to PRL and PRX, but it is slightly better than the other PR publications.
