I submitted to NC and then transferred to CB. It took 7 months from submission to acceptance. If you are in a hurry to graduate, be cautious in submitting because the review process is very strict. I submitted my paper on April 20th and received feedback from reviewers two months later. After making revisions, two out of three reviewers agreed one month later. The paper was conditionally accepted on September 16th. Since it was my first submission to a journal under Nature, the data openness and replicability requirements were quite complex and caused some trouble, but the paper was finally accepted in December. Overall, the reviewers and editors were very responsible and provided constructive feedback. I made modifications based on their suggestions, resulting in improved figures and resolution of many issues that existed before submission. I am quite careless, but the editors were patient and gave me multiple chances. Thank you!

Also, has the External Editor changed from "Assigned" to "Not Assigned"? I'm not sure what this situation means and I haven't received any emails asking me to fill out forms (I'm not sure if I didn't receive them because I selected "NO" for Preprint Deposition).
