During this period, I wanted to withdraw the submission.
Major revision on 20 Aug 2026, given one month and one week, to return the revised version by 26 Sep. Three reviewers, scattered comments, 2nd and 3rd reviewers were AI reviewers, I made detailed revisions, responding to each comment, the response letter was 100 pages long... more complaints than the top journals.
Submitted revised version on 16 Sep 2026
Accepted on 25 Sep 2026.
In summary: I was quite lucky, after the major revision, the submission was not sent for review again and the editor directly accepted it. There are two possibilities, either the editor saw that I made serious revisions, after all, he probably didn't bother to read over 100 pages in detail, so he just accepted it; the second possibility is that during the revision process I saw him soliciting submissions, and the direction happened to be intelligent driving of engineering machinery, so I caught the opportunity and got accepted without further review. I feel quite lucky this time.
The downside is that this journal is not very well-known and the focus is niche. Additionally, the first review and editorial review process was a bit slow, I speculate that it may be due to my focus not being traditional metallurgy or mining, but on intelligent driving of engineering machinery, which may have made it difficult to find relevant reviewers at the beginning.
