Submitted on 2.08, reviewed on 2.11, feedback received on 3.10, revisions completed on 3.16, agreed to accept on 3.18 but formatting issues still needed to be fixed. Revisions for formatting issues were made on 3.19 and 3.20, and after a weekend break, it was accepted on 3.23. Donging Ma's editing efficiency is extremely high, with deep professional knowledge. Almost all stages were completed within 24 hours, and some positive and professional suggestions were also made on the content of the article. Very grateful.

In addition, the same paper was previously submitted to applied surface science and materials today communications, both of which have a similar impact factor. Overall, ACS journals are more strict in peer review, with more reviewers involved. I have not encountered less than three reviewers so far.

Review comments were given in 3 weeks, followed by 3 major revisions. One reviewer rejected the paper, stating that a similar study had already been done in a different field. The editor requested another major revision.

The questions raised by the reviewers providing feedback were all very professional. It took three weeks to make the revisions, and an additional week was requested.

After submitting the revised manuscript, it took a few days for the editor to reply, stating that there were some changes needed in the Table of Contents and formatting. After making these adjustments and resubmitting, the manuscript was accepted.

Overall, the process was quick and the editor was both efficient and responsive. The response time for emails was almost immediate, making the experience much better than submitting to Elsevier.

Encountered a strange reviewer, completely off the mark. Submitted on March 11th, received reviewer comments on April 10th from a total of four reviewers; Returned on July 4th, all other reviewers had no comments, but the second reviewer, for some reason, raised over 20 questions; Answered the second reviewer's over 20 questions on July 18th, then on August 1st, this reviewer came back with several new questions; Answered the second reviewer's new questions on August 12th, only for the same reviewer on August 18th to say my data was not good enough and not recommend publication. Truly baffling, three out of the four reviewers had no issues, but this one reviewer made things difficult from start to finish, causing me to revise four times, each time adding experiments, only to be ultimately rejected. I have no idea what the editor is thinking, allowing such a difficult reviewer to have their way. This journal really deserves to be downgraded for encountering such a nitpicking reviewer.
