Submitted on December 22, 2025, just in time for Christmas. Waited silently until January 2026 to follow up with the editor on the progress. The review process was completed quickly within a week, but the editorial review took about 2 months, possibly because my content was niche. The wait was quite long. After pushing for progress, the reviewers requested major revisions, giving me a month to make changes. I completed the revisions in about 3 weeks. Due to nearing the end of my PhD, I was particularly anxious during the second review. After waiting about 45 days, I followed up again and finally received acceptance in early June 2026. Online in early July and officially published in early August. I think highly of this journal, the editor is super nice and patient. Although the impact factor dropped from 17.5 to 15.7, compared to NC and SA, don't most major journals have similar impact factors for their sub-journals? I hope Matter continues to improve and won't suddenly include so many articles like the AFM journal did.

Matter has always been the top journal in my mind. I didn't choose the other major journals, and decisively submitted to Matter. The overall level and difficulty of Matter are far superior to journals like AM. I submitted in June and just received minor revisions, I am very happy!
