Submission received major revisions after one month.
1. The speed is indeed very fast, with editor on the same day.
Under review for about four to five days.
However, the volume of submissions in 2025 is very large, so it may slow down later.
Many journals this year are exceeding their expected publication cycles, so be mentally prepared.
Especially in the first half of the year, facing graduation season, the speed will be slower.
2. There are usually two reviewers, but invitations are generally from three or more.
In other words, two reviewers can be in the RRC status.
3. The journal is an OA journal under the Materials Today series.
The publication fee is not low, close to 22,000 RMB.
I have to pay for it myself.
4. The opinions of the journal's reviewers are very professional.
The editor-in-chief is also very responsible.
So the quality of your manuscript must not be poor.
Although it is an OA journal, the rigor is similar to many journals with around 12 points.
5. Looking forward to returning to above 10 points this year.
The quality of the journal is not poor, I have browsed through the recent issues.

Submitted on 30th December 24, accepted on 26th February 25, with one major revision in between. The process was smooth and worth investing in.

Update: After about a month, reviewer 2 still did not respond. The editor invited two new reviewers. Finally, a decision was made based on the opinions of the two reviewers. The overall editorial team was good, but the reviewers were a bit slow.

Submitting to this magazine requires patience. The editors are decent, but the reviewers can be slow at times.

It's quite normal. I waited for over 5 months for the first review, continuously adding reviewers, and finally accepted 3 out of over 60 invitations (this journal requires a minimum of 3 reviewers).

11/29/24 - major revision
1/11/25 - resubmitted
1/27/25 - accepted.

R123 was allowed to be published directly, R4 continued major revisions
The editor was given 10 days, and voluntarily requested an extension to more than 20 days,
Finally, the major revisions were returned in 3 days (including weekends), and the editor accepted them
Overall processing speed is very fast, recommended, normally without R4 should be painless to receive in 2 months
