The newly published SCI journal "Heliyon" obtained its first impact factor in 21 years. In just three years, the number of articles published has tripled, exceeding 10,000. A warning: as of April 23, 2025, the journal is still in the SCIE journal "On Hold" status.

The main reason for the journal's frantic submission of manuscripts in the past year or two may be that it is at risk of not being included in the SCI database. In fact, it would be wise to reduce the total number of articles published each year.
