Oh my, talk about bad luck! I don't know if I ran into the editor who rejected my previous submission or if the reviewer acted as the editor, but they just flat out said they won't accept an article that has been rejected by the reviewers. "I regret to inform you that the reviewers of your manuscript have advised against its publication, and I must therefore reject it." I can't believe it, this was my first time submitting to this journal and I never expected the reviewers to recommend rejection. And to top it off, they even attached the previous review comments for me to see. Unbelievable, the Elsevier system is somehow connected to the ACS system, allowing me to see the review comments.

I am speechless! From submission to rejection, it took half a year.. The first round of review feedback came back, the editor requested major revisions. After carefully revising the paper according to the reviewers' comments, it was resubmitted. In the second round of review, the editor added a new reviewer, who returned the next day with revision suggestions and ultimately rejected the paper. The rejection letter was lengthy and it was obvious that it was written by an AI, with phrases like "If there is any issue, then the author's research is not valid" throughout. It was clear that the reviewer did not even read the paper! The editor also seemed to have not read it, as they rejected it as well, showing a lack of responsibility. A ten-page appeal letter was written, but it was of no use. Proceed with caution when submitting your work!

The reason for the delay from revision to acceptance for over a month is because of minor revisions made three times due to content and formatting issues.
Everyone should pay attention to the requirements of this journal when submitting manuscripts.
The main differences are as follows:
1. Experimental data requires error bars;
2. For research articles, with font size 12 and double-spaced, the total length of the main text and references should not exceed 35 pages (so many analyses and content were moved to the appendix during revision);
3. The total number of figures and tables should be less than or equal to 6, otherwise, an explanation needs to be provided to the editor, otherwise, they will have to be rearranged or moved to the appendix.

The original impact factor was 9, but unfortunately, it dropped to 8.2.
