The initial reviewer went missing, so I contacted customer service and after about a week, they sent out invitations to over a dozen new reviewers. About a month later, on 10.15, major revisions were requested.
There were a total of three reviewers, with two having relatively few comments and one providing over 20 very professional comments, requesting additional experiments and citing his own articles.
Revisions were submitted on 11.24 and returned to the original reviewer after about 3 days. On 12.4, the revisions were accepted.
The journal is very efficient and has strict quality standards. It's worth a try.

This post is finished. The efficiency of this journal's editing is extremely high. If the submission is not on the weekend, it usually takes only two days to decide whether to send it for review or reject it. Submitted on August 20, 2025, and Under Review on August 22. Invited 12 reviewers for the Under Review process, 3 accepted within a week. Approximately 14 days later, all 3 reviewers completed their reviews. Revisions were requested on September 6, and a decision for major revisions was made on the same day. The reviewers were fast, responsible, and gentle, providing simple suggestions. Except for one reviewer who provided more suggestions, which may have led to the major revisions. Corrections were made and resubmitted on October 8, waited for about three days, and sent back to the original reviewers on October 10. Re-reviews were accepted gradually from October 10 to 15, and on the morning of October 20, a decision was made for immediate acceptance. No minor revisions were required. The journal follows a single-round revision system, and it is unclear if this is the reason for the major revisions. However, the reviewers agreed directly, and no further modifications were requested.

In conclusion, I hope this information is helpful to future contributors! I submitted my article on February 24, 2025 and it was published online on August 23, 2025, exactly six months later! The magazine's editors were very friendly and efficient, never delaying the process, with updates usually made within three days. However, the peer reviewers were a bit hit or miss. The first round of reviews from two reviewers raised many questions, but were generally professional. After making revisions, they both disappeared. Finding new reviewers was a confusing process, as I couldn't understand why they didn't review the revised article after pointing out issues. It seemed that the second round of reviews involved a complete change of reviewers, which took over two months due to additional experiments and the new reviewers. During the second round, I had to remind them once to review my article, and it took over a month to receive feedback from one reviewer, who also requested further experiments. After making the necessary revisions and conducting the additional experiments, the third round of review involved only one reviewer, who was more modern and only required me to cite a specific reference, with other issues being more trivial. I was able to revise and resubmit within a week.

On April 25, 2025, the submission was made, and on April 29, it was informed that reviewers were being sought. Three reviewers were found on May 7, and the review came back on May 15, with some additional data added. The revised submission was made on July 11, and it was accepted on July 18. The reviewers' feedback was professional and gentle. Finally, preparing for graduation defense, hoping that this feedback will be helpful for other contributors.

Currently, the minor revision has been in the UR status for 18 days; there were two reviewers in the first round, but both reviewers for the second round have disappeared, and a third reviewer has appeared (only him, providing minor revisions). Apart from the delay in finding reviewers at the end of the year, the process of this journal is very fast, and the editors and reviewers are very friendly. I conducted research on single-molecule bioinformatics + cells + animals, exploring mechanisms. The workload was significant. Five years ago, a paper like this would have scored nearly ten points, but now it's not the case. It's a 50% reduction, and I am grateful to have been able to get published in this second-tier journal. Any paper that scored higher than 5 points was rejected straight away. In conclusion, I am very grateful to have encountered this journal, and I thank the editors and reviewers.
