The first SCI paper in my life
Submitted on June 2nd
Didn't pay much attention to the progress in between
Checked again on July 2nd and it was under review. Invited 5 reviewers, only one accepted the invitation.
Received revision suggestions on July 9th (from the one reviewer) and made 3 minor revisions.
After making revisions according to the reviewer's suggestions, submitted the revised paper on July 14th.
Accepted on July 16th.

In practice: I am the first author but not the corresponding author in the manuscript. I registered an account with my own email and submitted the manuscript. My first-authored paper was submitted to a national journal, and the process was relatively smooth. The handling speed of the associate editor, Vincenzo M. Sglavo, may be a bit slow (possibly due to the large number of submissions in the field of ceramics). Surprisingly, the editors and reviewers did not mention any issues with English, so friends with some basic English skills can use AI and software to polish their work.
