The quality of the journal article is still acceptable. When submitted last year, the wheat was not yet ripe. The progress of each stage is calculated on a quarterly basis. So far, only one round of proofreading has been done. The earliest publication will be in the second quarter. The cycle is indeed a bit long. It is fortunate to meet the deadline for the project. If you are interested in submitting to this journal, it is important to plan ahead considering personal needs and time constraints.

Submitted on March 23rd, notified on March 29th that the manuscript needed to be paginated and line numbered. After adding them on the same day, it was resubmitted and sent for review a few days later. On May 7th, received comments from three reviewers, two of whom seemed to be experts familiar with the field and asked very professional questions. The overall suggestion was minor revisions. After making the modifications, added a lot of introduction about the current research status and background in the introduction, conducted a simulated experiment, and made some changes to the abstract. Revised it on May 16th, and it currently shows that the revisions have been reviewed. Not sure about the final outcome yet! The Qiu Bao journal is known as the graduation journal for students of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Although its reputation is not bad domestically, with the country strongly advocating for publication of research findings in domestic journals, I hope to have one article accepted.

In recent years, the annual number of manuscripts is approximately 1000, with an acceptance rate of around 400, which is about 40%. The acceptance process is generally fast, but it seems that the publication cycle is quite long.

The process was quite fast, but the publication seems to be indefinitely delayed.

The review speed is very slow. It is not recommended to submit the article if you are in a hurry. The comments of external review were not given until 10 months after submission. The opinion given was “accept after revision”. 6 months after the submission of the revised manuscript, I was contacted to revise the format of the article, and it took one more month before being published. It took about one year and a half in total.

I am waiting (the result) now. In addition, the journal is now a monthly-published one, no longer bimonthly-published. The website has not been updated yet.

If you do not have a special connection with the journal, the review will take you half to a year. You may wait a year and a half for the publication; and it may finally be published within 2 years. If you are very close to the journal, then the editor will look for some acquaintances and your manuscript will get passed directly. It will be published immediately.
