Research on biomarkers of autism, in the process of submitting manuscripts, I deeply felt the perfect combination of rigor and efficiency. This paper was originally submitted in 2023, but was rejected the next day, which made me realize the need for further improvement. After a year of hard work, we resubmitted the revised manuscript on December 12, 2024, and to our surprise, the editor replied the next day expressing great interest in our research and hoping to publish it in their journal.

Ten days later, we received the first round of revision comments, and the entire review process was very fast. Over the next few months, we went through four rounds of revisions and finally were accepted on March 6, 2025. There was a small incident during this process: each round of reviewers made new suggestions, and in the third round, one reviewer raised a relatively fatal issue, which the editor also said needed careful consideration. At that time, I sensed that there might be some risks, so I politely wrote a reply, further explaining our views and the value of our research. The result was gratifying, as the editor gave us the opportunity for a fourth round of revisions the next day. We were accepted smoothly after revising for four days.

This submission experience made me appreciate the professionalism and efficiency of journal editors and reviewers, while also understanding the rigorous attitude in academic exchanges. Although the whole process was challenging, it was very pleasant and rewarding.
