The manuscript was submitted in April of 24th year, with major revisions requested in July and subsequent revisions in August, until the end of April of the 25th year, a total of over 8 months without any updates. During this period, three reminders were sent but only received procedural responses.

The most recent reminder was on April 27th of the 25th year, marking one year since submission. However, just two days later on April 29th, a rejection email was received. I am truly frustrated!

This is completely unacceptable!! We have informed all students in the research group to blacklist this journal!!!

Submitted in early September of 24, the first review was returned at the end of October, underwent major revisions, resubmitted at the end of November, accepted on December 31st, underwent another external review in early February, and finally accepted on March 1st.

PhD year 3, timeline: Submitted in September 2024, sent for external review on September 15, received first major revisions on November 26 (13 comments), resubmitted revisions on December 10, sent for external review again on December 17, received second round of minor revisions on January 30 (4 comments, 2 formatting issues, 1 question about open sourcing), awaiting results from external review as of February 17. It seems unlikely that the thesis will be ready for blind review next month. Let's see if we can make it in time for the defense in May.
