It's not easy, it took nearly 13 months to be accepted. At the beginning of the month, I was thinking, since it had already been delayed for several months, a few days ago I urged with a try attitude, and the editor actually accepted it after making minor revisions without finding a new reviewer. I was quite lucky to be able to get published in this journal. I had originally submitted to several journals with lower levels of prestige and had been rejected. Finally, I decided to try this journal thinking that it wouldn't hurt to be rejected one more time.

I submitted on 24.12.5 and it took about a month to receive under review status. 9 reviewers were invited, 3 accepted the review invitation. 

I received a major revision request on 25.2.22 and submitted the revised version on 25.3.21. 

On 25.4.19, I received under review status again. 2 reviewers accepted the review invitation but the third one did not respond. 

Finally on 25.5.11, I received an acceptance. I thanked the editor for the opportunity.

My editor took around 3 weeks to a month to respond each time. Overall, the experience was not bad. I was surprised that my submission was even considered for review. I wish the journal continued success.

It's not an isolated case. The last time I postponed for over a year, I managed to hold on and didn't withdraw, but in the end, I had to defer.

After discussing with my advisor, I had no choice but to withdraw the submission. After sending the withdrawal email, a deputy editor responded with some irrelevant comments, stating that two reviews had been received but a decision from the editor was still pending. I waited another week for the editor to make a decision, but there was still no movement on the manuscript. (However, the two reviews had already been received in December of last year. Why did it take four months to make a decision? Is it possible that this journal requires more than two reviews, perhaps three or more?)

In early April, I had to reluctantly withdraw the submission. I submitted the manuscript on June 27, 2024, and by April 2025, there was still no first round review result (waiting for 9 months). It is hard to imagine that even if the manuscript were to be returned, the second round review would take another 9 months or even a year.

Perhaps the long wait for a result is just an isolated case, as I have seen many colleagues who have had quick success with their submissions.

I am sharing my personal experience for reference, and I hope that those who, like me, have been waiting for a long time, can cut their losses and submit to journals that are quicker to respond. There are plenty of fast journals out there, so there is no need to waste time on one journal.

Firstly, the result: after submitting for 9 months, there was no response from the first review, with no end in sight. I have ultimately decided to withdraw my submission!

For those who are in a hurry to publish a paper for graduation, job hunting, or promotion, I advise to carefully consider submitting to this journal as it is extremely slow!!!
