Although it has been downgraded to the second tier in the Chinese Academy of Sciences classification, it is still considered a first-tier journal in the field of water resources (although it has been pushed to the bottom of the first-tier subcategory, which is very dangerous). The quality of papers published in this journal is guaranteed and widely recognized in the field.

However, those familiar with the current Chinese Academy of Sciences classification system know that some domestic journals with only a few dozen publications per year have been pushed to the forefront of the first tier, making it increasingly difficult to publish in top-tier journals in the future. In fact, using the strategy of publishing fewer papers to boost impact factors is not sustainable, as it will eventually lead to a decrease in submissions and a negative reputation.
