Anxiety, another paper was rejected after a month of major revisions for a different journal. It's casting a shadow on me, not sure if the opinions of only two reviewers will be enough, afraid of unexpected outcomes.

The opinions of the two reviewers are quite good and they also provide clear directions for revisions. However, one Chinese associate editor rejected it with a template rejection without any reasons. If you don't want to accept it, just reject it directly. What's the point of finding reviewers after external review? This journal already required you to make format revisions and resubmit after the first submission, which is already a waste of time.

The reviewer's comments are very fair and friendly, but the editor's speed is incredibly slow. I submitted my paper at the end of October, revised it by the end of March, and it wasn't until the end of May that it was finally with the editor. I suspect there are too many submissions and the editor is overwhelmed. Additionally, the open access fee is too expensive, nearly 24,000 RMB. The quality of the journal does not justify the cost, but fortunately, it is in the first quartile of toxicology journals and recognized by my institution.
