The submission experience with Paolo Frattini, the Italian editor, has been quite terrible. It is strongly recommended that the journal editorial board reassess his serious and malicious delays in handling submissions. On average, manuscripts submitted through him have to wait for over a month or even two months before being processed, and most of them end up being desk rejected. Although I have had submissions accepted by him before, the submission experience was still very poor. I understand that EG currently has a large volume of submissions and the editors have a heavy workload, but this is definitely not a valid reason to keep manuscripts sitting in the editor's hands for close to two months only to be desk rejected. I am not alone in this experience, as there have been widespread complaints within the academic community about this editor. I hope he can be removed from his position soon.
