A frustrating submission experience.
The first time, in July last year, after revising based on two reviewers' comments, the Associate Editor only saw one review and rejected it. After appealing, it was resubmitted.
The second time, resubmitted in November last year, one reviewer provided 55 comments, resulting in a reply of over 100 pages and more than 30,000 words. It was revised extensively and resubmitted in January.
Waiting until April this year, the reviewer for the first round disappeared, and the AE did not invite a new reviewer, ultimately deciding to reject the submission.
Despite understanding the hard work of editors and reviewers, and feeling that the outcome is debatable, I am exhausted and have no energy to argue further. I hope everyone's submission process goes smoothly.
