The editing was very unprofessional. After submitting the manuscript, it took 5 days to send it for external review, followed by a long wait. The first reviewer quickly provided feedback, but the second reviewer delayed for three months, probably disappearing. I had to urge the editor, who then found five or six new reviewers. After a long wait, they finally found new reviewers, and after five months of submission, they rejected my paper. They claimed that my paper had large chunks of repetition, likely because it had been previously submitted to other Elsevier journals and flagged in the database. Both reviewers, one rejected and the other suggested minor revisions, but ultimately it was rejected. I feel the editor and the reviewers were very unprofessional and not very competent.
