Food Research International provides a forum for the rapid dissemination of significant novel and high impact research in food science, technology, engineering and nutrition. The journal only publishes novel, high quality and high impact review papers, original research papers and letters to the editors, in the various disciplines encompassing the science and technology of food. It is journal policy to publish special issues on topical and emergent subjects of food research or food research-related areas. Special issues of selected, peer-reviewed papers from scientific meetings, workshops, conferences on the science, technology and engineering of foods will be also published.

Your luck is unbeatably good, the timing of submitting the article coincided with the time when the editor went online. This journal editor only goes online for a few days every month and only processes articles during that time. If you miss those days, you have to wait a long time. I submitted the revised version on May 19th and the editor just went online yesterday to process it. It's really frustrating.

Overall, it took two months for the process. In my experience, the editor is very time-oriented. With six reviewers, five provided feedback initially, and after the second round, with three feedbacks, it was accepted. My article followed a very regular timeline, and I hope this information is helpful to others.

It's rare to be a troll for once. Submitted on May 14th, it's been "With Editor", then two days later it changed to "Decision in Process". And today, on May 27th, it's still in this state. They're dragging their feet on rejecting it, it's really frustrating.

The efficiency of this journal editor is not very good. The reviewer completed the review within a week after the first revision, but the editor has been editing without providing any results. I don't know what's going on.
