I found that the experimental figures were copied verbatim, even the colors were exactly the same. So I contacted the editor-in-chief, but to my surprise, the editor-in-chief was protecting the plagiarizer (who was from the same country) and refused to retract the paper. I was speechless and had to threaten to make it public on social media platforms if they did not take action. It eventually escalated to the publisher Elsevier, and the plagiarized paper was finally retracted. This incident was two years ago, and today, coincidentally, I checked the journal and found that the editor-in-chief has not changed, still S. Minaei. I can only say that this journal is really not good.
