This journal is the weirdest journal I have ever encountered, without a doubt. After the first round of review, I made revisions according to the reviewer's comments and all were accepted. One of the reviewers noticed a duplicate section title in a reference, which was a problem with the Elsevier template. It did not show as a duplicate when compiled on the computer, but the system generated a duplicate title. The reviewer pointed it out, and I made the necessary corrections, thanking the editor and reviewer in the process. I thought it was just a matter of deleting a small section title for the editor to review. However, the editor asked why I had not responded to the reviewer's comments. When I saw the email, I immediately wrote back to explain the situation. Within just a few minutes of receiving the email, the editor unexpectedly rejected the submission and requested for it to be resubmitted. I have never seen such outrageous actions before. This incident left me feeling disgusted, not because of the rejection, but purely due to the editor's behavior. I decided not to resubmit the manuscript, as it was just too repulsive.
