The first review took 10 months and presented many extremely difficult questions to reply to, one of which seemed to be a canned response from an AI. I wrote over twenty pages in response, only to be dismissed with the final sentence "lack of innovation". During this time, I also helped review a paper, which was ultimately rejected in the second review. The submission system is very rudimentary, with no submission confirmation email and progress updates only visible through correspondence. I suggest submitting to a different journal.
