Has anyone ever changed the order of authors when the first review came back from TIE journal? I swapped the first and second authors, and the AE sent an email requesting to sign a document, asking all authors to sign and provide scientific reasons for the change. After sending it on Thursday night, they replied on Friday saying they received it, but are still holding off on sending it for review. Can anyone who knows about this situation please advise on what to do next? Will it be rejected or will there be another round of review?

This editor-in-chief is very slow. It took over 20 days for the manuscript to be assigned to an associate editor after submission. However, the last time it was awaiting EIC decision, it was processed in less than 2 hours on the same day. It really depends on luck.

When I submitted my paper, the status changed to "AE decision every two weeks" and during the "Under Review" period, two reviewers disappeared, so it changed back to "Assigned to AE" and I had to wait another two weeks.
