The initial submission to the most relevant journal, Tribo Int, was rejected because it had already been done by someone else. After significant revisions, the manuscript was submitted to IJMS, only to be rejected by the editor within an hour for lacking scientific value. After days of searching for a suitable journal, I found that IJMHT was somewhat related and decided to submit there. The first round of reviews involved five reviewers, with two accepting to review. After half a month, the reviews were still not returned, prompting the realization that one reviewer may not have understood my research direction. The editor then added eight more reviewers, with three accepting to review. The total review process took a month and a half for revisions. Despite the editor's suggestion for minor revisions, the 46 questions raised by five reviewers, including three positive, one negative with over twenty questions, and one rejection, required a detailed response of over thirty pages and 10,000 words, almost equivalent to the main text. Thankfully, the manuscript was eventually accepted, a truly challenging journey. I hope everyone submitting their work has a smooth experience, and I look forward to seeing this journal return to the top rankings soon!
