In most cases it is quite slow, but there are exceptions. In the most recent submission, submitted on June 3, 2025, it was sent back for revisions in mid-August. After making revisions, it was resubmitted two weeks later. The status remained with the editor until it was accepted on October 13, without even reaching the decision in principle (DIP) status. The overall process took 4 months. Generally, editors have a lot of time on their hands, while reviewers' time depends on luck.
