PRR has just achieved an impact factor of 4.2, slightly lower than PRApplied, and both journals are in the top 20% of their respective categories according to the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Currently, the impact factor is relatively low, and PRR's development momentum is not keeping up with Communications Physics, a top-tier journal under Nature. Editors need to work harder.

In the 2025 CAS division, PRR is classified as a double-tier 2 zone, slightly better than PRA/PRB in the sub-category. Whether there is still room for improvement in the future depends on whether its impact factor can break through 5 to nearly 6.

The editor is very responsible and sends the manuscript for review quickly. One reviewer usually submits the first report in about a month, while the other one keeps dragging his feet. It takes almost four months from submission to acceptance

Famous PR Reject, PRL was rejected and the reviewers recommended submitting to PRA, the editor recommended PR Research, who valued the latter's potential and chose it (it's really annoying that the impact factor took so long to come out, should've submitted to PRA earlier), in addition to submitting PRL with revisions, the submission took over a month and was accepted directly
