The difficulty is not great, but it was only submitted to Area 3 of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (the unit does not recognize Area 4), focusing on epidemiological investigation. Submitted on January 15th, it took about over 20 days to start the external review. The external review took 3 weeks for revisions (one suggested direct acceptance, one suggested revisions). After revisions, it took 3 weeks to enter Decision in Process (in fact, an email was sent in advance to inform that it had been accepted, but there was a reference with a website link, requiring additional time to access the website).

The OA journal of the Brazilian Pediatrics Association costs 1000 USD. There were very few contributions from Chinese people, so I didn't have much hope, considering it is a journal in the second tier. However, it turned out to be quite fast. I submitted the manuscript in the afternoon and it was under review by the evening. They also provided a link to track my own peer review. It took 2 months to complete the peer review, and the editor was very nice and efficient. I would submit revisions during the day and receive feedback either in the evening or the following day. After one major revision and one minor revision, the manuscript was accepted. Although there was only one expert reviewer for the major revision, they provided a lot of detailed feedback, with a whole 20 pages of word-by-word responses.
