The review process was very slow, involving both bioinformatics and Mendelian genetics, lasting a total of 15 months, during which the reviewers were changed and 5 reminder letters were sent. Fortunately, the paper was finally accepted, although the publication fee was expensive and had increased. The submission was made on 10 Jan 2025, revision requested on 01 Jul 2025, first revision received on 09 Jul 2025, second revision requested on 25 Dec 2025, second revision received on 09 Feb 2026, and finally accepted on 06 Apr 2026. I will not consider submitting to this journal again in the future due to the low cost-effectiveness and slow efficiency.
