I thought I did a good job on this project, but the submission process was rough. Eventually, I decided to try Material Future. After all, it's domestic, and still worth investing in.
It was reviewed in just 3 days, with revisions returned in 35 days. There were 3 reviewers, and their feedback was very constructive. After making the revisions, it was online the same day.
I hope to build on this success and aim for Material Today next. Everyone should give it a try.

The manuscript was submitted at the end of October, underwent major revisions in early December, returned for revisions in early January, and was provisionally accepted at the end of January. The overall speed is acceptable, although slightly longer than the median time provided on the journal's homepage metrics. The reviewers provided constructive feedback without any particularly unreasonable or challenging comments. The German editor made decisions very quickly. I personally like the font and layout of the template. This journal seems to be less cliquey in the domestic journal circle (although it is not yet indexed in SCI, so caution is advised for those who require SCI for graduation): The author wanted to publish this article in a domestic journal (but does not have a corresponding author hat), previously submitted to three domestic journals and was desk rejected, and one non-domestic journal was rejected by a Chinese editor. So the impression of this journal is still good.
