In this journal, as I know, UR means that the editor-in-chief sends your manuscript to an AE (associate editor) for further evaluation, and there is no change in the status date while they are inviting reviewers or taking any further actions.

They had high demands for the description of experimental methods and analysis of experimental results, and asked about what kind of errors could be caused by which experimental techniques. I learned a lot from the reviewers.

The question about these four major publications is not whether they are good or not, but rather whether they are good enough. If they are good enough, it is undoubtedly a affirmation of one's own work.

Actually, the earliest mention was of the 4 major journals, as well as Japanese SF. However, later on, the impact factor and classification of this journal both declined, and now it is said to be the 3 major journals. G and JGGE are definitely the most recognized in the field of geotechnical engineering worldwide, while CGJ is slightly inferior to these two. However, personally, I believe it should be ranked above CG. If you want to consider industry recognition, you can refer to the grading of engineering geology journals organized by the China Association for Science and the Rock Mechanics and Engineering Society in 2022, which is more objective and representative. But when it comes to finding a job, the classification by the Chinese Academy of Sciences is more important, so it cannot be ignored. These are my personal opinions, and I welcome discussions from colleagues.

It took nearly a year, the review speed of yysy is really slow, so if you are in a hurry to publish, don't touch it. The feedback given was very helpful, and I heard that this journal has a high reputation. The requirements from the editor were quite strict, and I had to revise the article about 7 or 8 times. Fortunately, perseverance paid off, and it did not affect my application for further studies.
