First of all, it's slow, very slow. After reading the comments, mine seems relatively fast. The manuscript was submitted for review on February 24, 2025, but no reviewer accepted the manuscript during the process. It took a month for the editor to start adding reviewers.
R1 comments arrived on April 20, 2025.
R1 revised manuscript submitted on May 14, 2025.
On June 28, reviewers requested additional 2D NMR for revisions.
R2 revised manuscript submitted on July 17, followed by a three-month silence as one reviewer disappeared. Four emails inquiring about the progress were sent to the editor mentioned above, all of which received official replies.
R3 comments arrived on October 24, 2025, with reviewers being unsatisfied with the handling of 2D NMR data, leading to further revisions.
R3 revised manuscript submitted with Editor on November 17, 2025.
Editor submitted the manuscript for review on December 5, 2025.
Reviewers completed the review on December 6, 2025.
Editor agreed to accept the manuscript on December 9, 2025.
This editor sent our manuscript for review within a week after the initial submission. However, subsequent revisions took about 2 weeks to be processed. There was little progress made between July and October (including encountering disappearing reviewers), resulting in the manuscript submitted at the beginning of the year being accepted only at the end of the year. Other colleagues in the same group had much faster processing rates when not dealing with this editor, with most manuscripts being accepted within 1-2 months.
