If they decide to reject the submission, the editor will directly reject it, which is true. I also had an article that was rejected in this way. I was so angry that I wanted to write a rebuttal, but my supervisor said it would not make any difference. I didn't send it in the end and submitted it to another journal. There is nothing we can do when we encounter such situations. I have also had classmates who only had one reviewer, and the reviewer gave a very positive evaluation, leading to direct acceptance of the submission. In my opinion, if there is only one reviewer after submission, to be honest, their opinion is final.
