This journal is not recommended for submission. The editor is too incompetent, taking more than 10 days to handle each round of submissions and reviews from authors (which adds up to nearly 20 days). It's not just slow, they also like to intentionally mess with people's emotions. We had five reviewers for the first round, all of whom suggested revisions. For the second round, the same five reviewers were assigned, but one of them (who suggested minor revisions) was removed by the editor without giving feedback. We wrote a 70-page response letter to the feedback from these five reviewers, and in the end, three accepted and one suggested minor revisions, which the editor also accepted. For the third round, the editor added another reviewer unnecessarily. It's completely unnecessary to have up to six reviewers for one article. If they wanted to add more reviewers, why not do it in the second round instead of intentionally causing more stress in the third round? If they wanted to reject the article, they could have done so directly, instead of disrespecting the efforts of the initial reviewers and the revisions made by the authors. We have spent over three months on this article with no results, and during these three months, almost two months were wasted in the editor's hands without any progress.

Back in 2019, I had a submission that received review comments in less than a month, and was accepted 3 days after revision. It feels like things are not as fast now as they were before. However, both the reviewers and editors were very good, providing constructive feedback that significantly improved the quality of the paper after revision. Comparing Analytical Chemistry (AC) with Analytical Chemistry A (ACA), I personally feel that AC focuses more on innovation, while ACA places more emphasis on data completeness and method validation.
