Recently, I collaborated with a friend on an article that combines theory and experiments. I was responsible for the calculations, while he handled the experiments. The review process took a little over a month, and after some major revisions, it took another month to complete the revisions and resubmit. In total, it took about three months, which is considered relatively fast. The journal has a good reputation, and if the work is done carefully and meticulously, they are generally friendly towards submissions from relatively unknown authors like us.
