The editor assigned was 3.5, but now the system may have changed and the assigned editor is not showing. Hello, I would like to inquire about my submission to the Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture. It shows that it is currently under review. Does this mean it has been assigned to an editor for review? It has been 2 months and it is still showing as "ME: Editorial Office, JSFA" and "ME: Assistant, Editorial" without a specific editor's name under review. However, when I inquired, the response I received was "I would like to let you know that your paper is currently out for peer review," which seems to indicate that it is being reviewed by peers. The article was submitted in March of 25 years ago, went through three rounds of reviews, taking one year in total. The final reviewer did not agree to publish it, so the editor rejected the submission. During the review process, the reviewers were changed each time, and two of them requested to cite their own literature. It is advised not to submit if there is an urgent need for the article.

The review process is very uncertain. The paper was submitted at the end of February, but by mid-April, we still hadn't found a reviewer. In July, we were told that two reviewers had conflicting opinions, so we needed to find a third reviewer. The final rejection letter stated that we couldn't find a third reviewer, so the editor had to review the paper themselves. Some of the feedback was constructive, while some opinions were amateurish. The paper was submitted on February 25th, a reminder about the image numbering issue was sent on February 25th, and it entered the under review stage. The paper was ultimately rejected on August 14th.
