The review process is extremely long, and the editor-in-chief is very unfriendly to Chinese researchers. After 2 years of review, the feedback is particularly slow each time. In the end, all external reviewers agreed to publish the paper, but the editor-in-chief rejected it due to formatting issues. It was a waste of 2 years, so it is better to avoid falling into this trap.

There were 2 rounds of formatting changes in between, probably fixing a few spelling errors and unclear images.

Overall, the editing was very rigorous, but there were also many requirements. I was even asked to include the entire experimental procedure in the supplementary materials. Hopefully, the journal's impact factor will rise even higher.

The initial review is fast, and there will be a chance to revise for formatting issues (the email says only one chance will be given).
11.19: Major Revision (approximately 43 days given for revisions);
12.12, returned for revisions;
2024.1.2, rejected. Was informed that the similarity score was too high, only then realized that there would be a similarity check for revisions;
1.9, reduced similarity, resubmitted;
2.3, Minor technical revision (8 days given);
2.8, resubmitted;
2.15, another Minor technical revision, 5 days given;
Submitted on 2.16 in the afternoon. Accepted at 10 pm.

The manuscript was completed and submitted with format revision in the next semester of postgraduate period (during the Epidemic period). [Monday, March 30] It was sent for review by two reviewers. One of them could be a statistical expert; [June 3 Major revision were requested] Some grammar and minor issues were mainly revised by Reviewer 1; Six questions concerning analysis methods and statistical tests were asked by Reviewer 2. [July 17 Reply to the reviewers]. [September 3 Major revision was requested]: Reviewer 1 agreed to accept it; Reviewer 2 still felt that the analysis method was problematic, and suggested adopting verification method to revise the article majorly. [October 10 Reply to the reviewer]. [November 18 Moderate revision was submitted]. Reviewer 2 agreed to accept it but reviewer 1 asked some grammatical questions. And it was replied on November 19. [November 27 Technical minor revision was requested]. [November 29 Reply to the reviewer]. [November 30 Accepted].
