I hate you jtm. I waited for a month for a response, followed up for three and a half months, and sent two or three emails asking the editor to find reviewers, but received no response. After wasting four and a half months, I had no choice but to withdraw the submission, and the assistant editor responded immediately. With no other options, I submitted to Nutrients under mdpi. I thought the topic was not too niche (the paper has already been cited five or six times in less than five months after publication), so why was it so difficult to find reviewers? I couldn't find a single one! I deeply suspect that the editor did not properly invite reviewers, as their attitude was extremely negative. Recently jtm has been promoted and the impact factor has increased, which really saddens me. Even if they had rejected me after the initial review, I would have been okay with it.

Submission date: October 27th. Assigned to editor on the 29th, external review the next day. Minor revisions on December 8th, with one month given for revisions. Revised on January 8th, with some formatting issues causing several re-uploads. Assigned to editor on January 18th, external review on the 20th. Another round of minor revisions on February 13th, with the email indicating potential acceptance. Revised on February 16th, assigned to editor on the 22nd, and accepted on the 23rd.

Overall, the process was quite fast, with friendly editors and two reviewers; one of whom was very professional and raised 8 challenging questions that took a month to address in the first round of revisions. The other reviewer was friendly and raised minor issues and requested citations of their own two articles.
