Has anyone encountered this situation before? Three reviewers were invited for the second review, two of them accepted. One provided feedback quickly, while the other has not provided any feedback for almost two months now. Today, upon checking the system, it was discovered that the number of reviewers had been updated from 2 to 1.

The paper was submitted in July of the 24th year. It was reviewed by two reviewers for over a year, during which I had to follow up twice and the publishing house helped me follow up once. In September of the 25th year, I received an email with feedback from one of the reviewers suggesting major revisions. The editor ultimately decided to reject the paper. I am truly frustrated!

Overall, it's a pretty good journal with a not very high submission difficulty. Most people receive a response within three to four months at the most, for example, my junior only took two months to hear back. I'm just slow!!!!

Currently still in the external review process, it is indeed a bit slow. I basically check in on the situation every month or so, but have not received any responses so far. I received a reply on January 2nd, 2025, saying that they are inviting reviewers, but haven't heard anything since then.
