It took a total of 2 months from submission to acceptance, with 1 month for revisions in between. It was too quick! Thanks to the editor for being so efficient!
However, this paper was so unfortunate!
Originally submitted to the International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, a top journal in the first zone, the reviews were mostly positive, but one reviewer who clearly didn't understand the research field claimed that there had been too many similar studies, when in fact there have been very few. This rejection really frustrated me.
I then resubmitted to MMTB, thinking that the second zone was still decent, but the outcome was disappointing...
Sigh, it's heartbreaking to see my own article rejected.
But MMTB is also a well-established journal in the field, and getting accepted on the first attempt can be considered fulfilling a small wish of mine.
