Avoid, avoid, avoid this journal!!! It's just too bad. The review process took 4 months, waited in the hands of the editor for 7 months, after urging for submission, it was given major revisions, then after submitting the revisions, it took 1 and a half months for review. The editor then delayed for another 3 months, and after inquiring about the progress, the paper was rejected in just a few days. The review comments were completely different from the first review, as if they had found a new reviewer. The review comments were also difficult to understand, asking to cite the reviewer's articles. It's a pure waste of time, the journal is also highly unethical, not reliable at all, wasting a year of time, only to be rejected in the end.

The lightning journal, which published an article in 2022, was not yet warned. In fact, I submitted two articles to this journal at the same time. One was accepted relatively quickly, while the other was delayed for over 3 years, underwent 3 rounds of revisions, and was ultimately rejected because the author's identity could not be confirmed. I sent numerous reminders during this period, and the editors always responded promptly, but there was never any substantial progress made. It was during the review process that the journal was warned, but I did not consider withdrawing the submission. In the end, it was rejected for unreasonable reasons. Additionally, reviewers often ask authors to add irrelevant references to increase their own citation count. In conclusion, I strongly advise against submitting to this journal.

Looking at the few reviews, I would like to share my personal submission experience after the warning. Submitted on 21st September 2024, I was informed by EA on 23rd September that I needed to fill in the author's institutional email. So, after adding the corresponding author's email on 24th September, I submitted it. The status was "assigned EA" on 24th September, "awaiting reviewer selection" on 15th October, and "awaiting reviewer assignment" around January 20th, 2025. I am not quite sure about the difference between the "selection" and "assignment" stages. Around February 15th, it entered the "awaiting reviewer scores" stage. Just as I anxiously awaited the review comments, I was informed by a domestic authority on March 20th, 2025, that this journal had been warned for being a paper mill. According to the official website, this journal is a UN journal with an acceptance rate of only 13% in 2024, with 195 published papers and a self-citation rate never exceeding 10%. It is also a non-OA journal that can be chosen. Without saying much, I am preparing to withdraw my submission. Another paper I submitted to a different journal is currently on hold during the second review and has dropped to the 2nd quartile in 2025. Both papers can be said to have failed, so I need to start over. The academic road may not be smooth sailing, haha, I feel like laughing, it's like a dream. Finally, let's encourage each other, in life, everything is a small matter except for death.
