Received the first invitation to submit to the editor, but after a month, the manuscript was still under review. I sent a reminder email and finally the manuscript was sent for review. It took 3-4 months for the review to come back, with feedback from four reviewers. One reviewer recommended acceptance, while the other three suggested rejection due to the content not aligning with the journal's scope. After making revisions and resubmitting, the manuscript was rejected upon the second review, citing the same reason of mismatched content. It was a very disappointing submission experience, and it feels like the editors were not very responsible. I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience.
